I don't like Rock Music, I'm not white!

This morning I caught an episode of The MoNique Show. I got excited when I saw the HANDSOME Lenny Kravitz come on the stage! About 5 minutes into his interview, he made a profound point that I've been trying to make for years!! He said one day some idiot (yeah, I said it) came up to him and said, "Hey, you're the guy who makes that white people music!"...did he really say that?! Of course Lenny had to give him a lesson on the history of Rock music. He told the "brother" (I'm paraphrasing)that rock music originated from BLACK people and that we're so quick to disown our own music.





Let me take a second to give a brief history, of rock music

Rock music debuted in the late 1940s/early 1950s. It is a combination of blues, country music, jazz and gospel. It ORIGINATED in the SOUTHERN United States of America. It DEVELOPED from musical traditions during TRANSATLANTIC SLAVERY.

Need I say more?!?!

All of you silly ass people who classify rock as "white" music need to go catch a clue! Even if you're not big on studying Black History, our beloved Beyonce stared in a movie a few years back called Cadillac Records.




I know you saw it!!! My question is, Did you pay attention?!?! The foundation of what you need to know is in that movie!
